New luminosity world record

Two weeks after the end of the cherry blossom season at KEK in Tsukuba, Japan, Belle II@SuperKEKB has broken the world record for daily integrated luminosity (1.63 fb⁻¹/day).

The previous world record, which was set by the KEKB collider (SuperKEKB’s predecessor), was 1.48 fb⁻¹/day. This new daily-luminosity record is another milestone on the path of SuperKEKB and Belle II to collecting the world’s largest number of electron-positron collisions.

Stay tuned for more SuperKEKB accelerator world records as the #Belle2 physics data sample continues to grow.
